The beginning of Christmas starts with a special Latin feast called La Guadalupana (virgin of guadalupe). The celebration end on 6th January with epihany. There are other special celebrations which are celebrated in between 12th December to 6th January. One of the popular celebration is Las Pasodas which starts from 16th December till 6th January. The celebration lasts for 9 days. Other festivities like Holy innocent days also celebrate during Christmas season.
Las Pasodas is a celebration where the adults and children re-enact the story of Joseph. This story is from the Christian Bible and after doing this act as a tradition, people start singing the Carols which are obviously in latin.Various traditional meals like romeritos(baked shrimp), bacalao (dried cod fish), roast turkey and salads are made on Las Pasodas.
